DAWOOD: BOY RACER WHO KILLED FRIENDS IN 100mph SMASH GETS JUST THREE YEARS

EAST HAM, WANSTEAD, EAST LONDON; A boy racer killed two friends in a 100mph chase by driving down the wrong side of the road to avoid a speed camera, a court heard today. (Fri) Uninsured Nabeal Javeed, 20, was clocked at 92.4mph in his black BMW 3 Series while Zubar Dawood, also 20, raced him on the opposite side of the carriage way 30mph road in a grey Lexus IS200 Sport.

MIHAI: BENEFIT CHEAT ASYLUM SEEKER JAILED FOR 21 MONTHS

BRISTOL; STANSTED, ESSEX: A failed asylum seeker who fraudulently claimed £21,000 in benefits was today (Fri) jailed for 21 months. Romanian national Dorel Mihai, 39, failed in two bids to gain asylum after coming to the UK in 2000 – one where he used a fake name, Southwark Crown Court heard.

HOXTON, EAST LONDON; HOLNE, EXETER, DEVON; BIRMINGHAM; A former MI6 spy who tried to sell confidential files to the Dutch for up to £2 million will walk free today (fri). Daniel Houghton, 25, was caught handing over confidential electronic files, including memory sticks and a laptop hard drive detailing MI5's intelligence-gathering techniques to undercover agents.

HARROW, NW LONDON; A Harley Street psychiatrist was struck off today (Fri) for having sexual relationships with patients after grooming them with swimming trips and visits to art galleries. Dr Theodore Soutzos, 45, flattered three women with compliments and meals at top restaurants, the General Medical Council heard.

PATEL: BUNGLING PATHOLOGIST WILL WORK AGAIN BEFORE CHRISTMAS

CENTRAL LONDON A Home Office pathologist who bungled the autopsy into a G20 protester has been suspended for three months. Dr Freddy Patel, who ruled Ian Tomlinson died of a heart attack during the demonstration, was found to have been 'irresponsible' in three autopsies, two of which amounted to misconduct.

NADIR: FUGITIVE ARRIVES AT THE OLD BAILEY

CYPRUS Fugitive tycoon Asil Nadir arrived at the Old Bailey today (FRI) to face trial for a £34m fraud. Nadir, 69, fled to northern Cyprus in May 1993 after being charged over the collapse of his Polly Peck business empire.

RADFORD: PARAMEDIC ACCUSED OF 'MISLEADING' MIDWIVES OVER BREAK

WEYMOUTH; A paramedic who refused to take a mother to hospital for an emergency caesarean section because he was on his break lied to midwives at the scene about being ordered to stay, a tribunal heard today (Thurs). Ian Radford told midwives at the home birth in Weymouth that control room staff had instructed him not to take the 31-year-old woman to hospital because another ambulance was en route and he was overdue a break, the Health Professions Council heard.

WILLESDEN, NORTH LONDON; STOKE; A film producer who clipped the rear of a driverless van just moments before it rolled down a hill and crushed two pedestrians told a court today (Thurs) he was unaware of hitting the vehicle. LINCOLN: A mental health nurse accused of failing to investigate a rape allegation on his unit said today (Thurs) his decision not to call police was 'borne out' when the charges were later dropped. John Hales, 65, allegedly failed to make thorough inquiries after a 19-year-old male reported another patient had committed a sex attack.

BRISTOL; A social worker e-mailed his colleagues to tell them to refuse to cooperate with an Ofsted inspection, a tribunal heard today (Thurs). Charles Place, who worked at the Bristol offices of the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (Cafcass), said inspections elsewhere in the country had been 'unfair', the General Social Care Council heard.

PRABAGARAN: NURSE USED BELT TO RESTRAIN DEMENTIA PATIENT IN WHEELCHAIR

BOURNEMOUTH, DORSET; A nurse restrained an elderly dementia patient in her wheelchair with a heavy belt, a hearing was told today (Thurs). Saroj Devi Prabagaran, known as Hannah, was 'cross' that she could not strap the woman in the chair, it was said.
