MAKOWSKI: FOUR YEARS FOR BULLY LOCKSMITH

CHADWELL HEATH/BROXBOURNE A 'rogue trader' locksmith who lived a life of luxury by ripping off customers was jailed for four years today (Mon). Mark Makowski, 40, charged a flat fee of around £128 to get residents back into their properties after they had been locked out.

POWELL: MAN CLEARED OVER LOVE TRIANGLE SHOOTING

CROYDON, SOUTH LONDON; A father has been cleared of gunning down a former Jamaican police officer after his seven-year-old son told him the victim was his mother's new lover. Christopher Powell, 31, was accused of hunting down hairdresser Dean Longford to outside his work and blasting him in the leg with a shotgun after learning the news at a children's birthday party.

RICHARDS: DINNER LADY ADMITS 'WASTING' BENEFIT FRAUD CASH

CLAPTON, EAST LONDON: An alcoholic dinner lady who withdrew almost £15,000 from bank accounts shortly after being interviewed about her benefit fraud told a court, 'I just wasted it'. Marcia Richards, aged 48, of Harrington Hill in Clapton falsely claimed more that £31,000 in benefits while squandering her £77,000 inheritance from her mother.

POPLAR, EAST LONDON; BIRMINGHAM; Three men who allegedly agreed that two would hide under the bed while a third had sex have denied voyeurism. George Iaponas, aged 23, is said to have agreed to let his friends Lemar Garcia, 19, and Shabar Hussain, 20, conceal themselves during his romp with a student at a hall of residence.

MOTWANI: NEW EXPERT TO GIVE EVIDENCE AGAINST HEART DOCTOR

PLYMOUTH; A cardiologist accused of abusing pioneering heart surgery to further his own career will face fresh evidence from a new expert witness, the GMC has ruled. Consultant cardiologist Dr Joe Motwani boasted he was a 'machine' while pioneering an alternative to open heart surgery at the Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, it is claimed.

LIMEHOUSE, HACKNEY, PLAISTOW, EAST LONDON; BASILDON, BARKING, ESSEX: Four couriers who stole thousands of pounds worth of phones and high-tech electrical goods from the mail have escaped jail. City Link drivers Trevor Griffith, Clive Myrie and Margaret Thomas, all 44, and Faye Clark, 32, swiped the mobile phones, flat screen TVs and iPods they were supposed to deliver.

(Fri) John Robinson, 33, was not due to be released from a five year stretch until next month, but bungling prison bosses rewarded him with the surprise exit 'in error' on November 25 last year.

University student Omar Omar, 23, climbed into the south London home through a ground floor window as a couple and their two little girls slept upstairs.
