HUSSAIN:PADDY POWER WORKER STOLE £10,000 FROM BOSS

EAST HAM, EAST LONDON; ILFORD, ESSEX A Paddy Power worker who stole £10,000 while his boss was on a cigarette break has been banned from all bookmakers for a year. Farhad Hussain, 31, raided the safe and the till after running up serious debts fuelling his gambling addiction. He immediately fled the store in High Street North, East Ham, east London, but later handed himself into police. Hussain claimed he had thrown the cash away in the street in a panic after hearing police sirens but none of it was recovered.

ABDI:ROLEX SPREE FRAUDSTERS FACING JAIL

BIRMINGHAM; LIMEHOUSE, EAST LONDON Two fraudsters who splashed out on a Rolex watch and two iPads in a shopping spree using a borrowed credit card are facing jail. Saeed Abdi, 26, and Sakeriye Muse, 22, bought one luxury timepiece worth £4,500 and shopped for two more in a three-hour tour of central London's exclusive watch shops. They withdrew thousands of Euros from Bureau de Change, each time presenting a credit card belonging to Mustafe Suleiman. When they were finally stopped, Muse was walking down Piccadilly carrying more than 41,000 Euros in cash.

RUSSIAN EXCHANGE STUDENT IN COURT AFTER UNIVERSITY EVACUATION

NEWCASTLE A Russian exchange student appeared in court today (Tues) charged with making explosive substances after a bomb scare triggered the evacuation of Newcastle University. Vladimir Aust, 18, also faces a charge of possessing a blade in public following his arrest outside the Russian embassy, Bayswater Road, central London, where he was allegedly caught with two lock knives. Part of the University premises, known as the INTO building, on the city's Haymarket Lane, had to be evacuated and a controlled explosion carried out by members of the Bomb Disposal Unit on Newcastle Town Moor. Appearing in the dock in a light grey t-shirt and white jogging bottoms, Aust spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.

SHIELDS:PARTYGOER SWIPED £10,500 FUR COAT AT UK'S HIGHEST RESTAURANT

HOUNSLOW, WEST LONDON A young partygoer who stole a silver fur coat worth £10,500 from a diner at Britain's highest restaurant was spared jail today and handed a hefty compensation bill. Victoria Shields, 21, swiped the garment from the cloakroom of the Duck and Waffle on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, while on a night out with friends. The coat, worth £10,515,11, was later sold to a clothing store with Shields pocketing just £200, City of London Magistrates' Court heard. Police managed to trace Shields after CCTV footage from the bar showed her grabbing the coat shortly after Ms Firuza Omarova handed it to cloakroom staff.

HOUNSLOW A young partygoer who stole a silver fur coat worth £10,500 from a diner at Britain's highest restaurant was spared jail today and handed a hefty compensation bill. Victoria Shields, 21, swiped the garment from the cloakroom of the Duck and Waffle on the 40th floor of Heron Tower, while on a night out with friends. The coat, worth £10,515,11, was later sold to a clothing store with Shields pocketing just £200, City of London Magistrates' Court heard. Police managed to trace Shields after CCTV footage from the bar showed her grabbing the coat shortly after Ms Firuza Omarova handed it to cloakroom staff.

SHURMUR: CRIMINAL FACING JAIL AGAIN OVER DODGY LAND ROVER DEAL

DAGENHAM A former traffic warden who was jailed for drug dealing while on duty is facing prison again today (TUES) for selling a Land Rover with false documents. Craig Shurmur, 34, served a 36 week prison sentence in 2010 after being filmed by a journalist handing over a bag of skunk cannabis. Two years later he advertised the 4x4 vehicle on Ebay for £15,500 and agreed to meet Barclays banker David Pipe at the Green man Roundabout in Leytonstone, east London. At a second meeting in a car park in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, on 25 June 2012 the pair agreed a price of £13,000.

STANDING: 'HORSEPLAY' NURSE TAPED CARE HOME RESIDENT TO CHAIR

HARTLEPOOL A care home resident told a hearing today (tues) a nurse would tape her to a table or a chair when she was 'in the mood for horseplay'. Alison Standing was also flirtatious at work and told a male colleague she would 'love' to take him into the toilet, it was said. Standing was deputy manager, and later acting manager, at the Briar Court Nursing Home, Hartlepool, at the time of the allegations between September 2007 and May 2012. She is also accused of letting her two young daughters into the home, which is a facility for adults with learning difficulties and mental health problems.

DIVINEY: COMPANY BOSS FLOUTED CARBON TRADING BAN

STOURBRIDGE, OLDBURY, WEST MIDLANDS A company director flouted a ban on the export of weapons-grade carbon to Turkey, a court heard today (TUES). John Diviney, 52, failed to get an export licence for two consignments of 'isotopic graphites', it is claimed. The material, which can withstand high temperatures, could have been used in the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction, jurors were told. Diviney and his company Tokai Carbon Europe Ltd, the British subsidiary of a Japanese corporation, are now on trial at the Old Bailey.

BAILEY: BOND PA DENIES STEALING WATCH AND £11K FROM BARBARA BROCCOLI

HANWELL A PA to James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli today (tues) denied stealing a designer watch and more than £11,000 to pay off court fines. Darren Bailey, 39, is accused of swiping a luxury Omega watch belonging to Bond makers Eon Productions while working for Ms Broccoli. The Omega brand has been worn by Bond stars Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan since first featuring in 1995's GoldenEye, and was used again in the Bafta-winning Skyfall. Bailey is accused of using his company card issued by Eon to pay £5,000 in court fines and another £564.96 in parking fines, Southwark Crown Court heard.

TWEEDALE: FACEBOOK TROLL JAILED FOR SPITTING IN WOMAN'S FACE

WALTHAMSTOW An ex-public schoolboy who stalked women on Facebook using Columbine killer Eric Harris as his profile picture has been locked up again for spitting in a woman's face. James Tweedale, 26, has been branded a danger to the public after campaigns of harassment against sisters Shani and Becky Donnelly and their friend Laura Johnson. The twisted internet troll sent one message saying 'You will be dead in two weeks', and told Ms Johnson: 'I should commit suicide, I really should.' Tweedale, a former pupil at the elite Charterhouse boarding school, was slapped with a restraining order in September last year and handed suspended sentences for harassing and stalking the woman.

KUMAR: BUSINESSMAN FAKED OWN DEATH FOR £1M INSURANCE PAYOUT

ABBOTS LANGLEY, WATFORD A failed businessman who faked his death in India in a bid to scoop a £1.1m life insurance payout was jailed for just 30 months today (tues). Wife Anju Kumar, 46, reported Sanjay Kumar, 45, had died of 'brain fever' in a desperate bid to clear their family's mounting debts. But apart from a bout of diarrhoea her husband was in good health, Southwark Crown Court heard. Sanjay - born in India but a British citizen with dual nationality - flew to Delhi on business trip on 3 November, 2011.
