JACKSON:BLUNDER DOCTOR TO HAVE PRIVATE HEARING

WHITSTABLE, MARGATE, KENT A family's seven-year battle to see a sacked surgeon face disciplinary charges after the death of a mum-of-eight could be in vain because of concerns over the doctor's 'poor health'. One of those patients was Jill Phillips, from Whitstable, Kent who died aged 68 on the operating table at Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital, in Margate in September 2006. Her family have raised concerns over the length of the regulatory process and fear the circumstances surrounding Jackson's conduct at the East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust could now be 'swept under the carpet'.
