JEFFERSON: ACCUSED CYBERFRAUDSTERS IN COURT

HAMPSTEAD, MILTON KEYNES Three men including a former bank worker appeared in court today (tues) accused of involvement in a cyber plot to steal £1.3m from Barclays. Fraudsters used a keyboard video mouse to take control of the bank's computers remotely and siphon off the cash, it is said. The gadget used, which can be purchased for as little as £10, enables thieves to take control of multiple computers and to transmit information from them to a remote location. Around £1.3m was stolen from accounts at the branch in Finchley Road, Swiss Cottage, north London, although a 'significant' amount of cash has since been recovered.

AMIN: COUSIN OF HONOUR KILLING VICTIM ACCUSED OF HIDING BODY

MITCHAM The cousin of honour killing victim Banaz Mahmod has appeared in court today (Fri) over claims he helped hide her broken body. Dana Amin, 29, is charged with preventing the decent burial of Mahmod, 20, and perverting the course of justice, Southwark Crown Court heard. The body of the young Muslim woman was rammed into a suitcase and buried in a Birmingham garden under piles of rubbish, where it lay undiscovered for three months in early 2006.

DODA: 'VAPORUB' COKE SMUGGLER WAS ON THE RUN

SOUTHAMPTON An Albanian 'Teflon Don' who smuggled millions of pounds cocaine into Britain after repeatedly cheating justice was jailed for 15 years today (Tues). Admir Doda, 37, was previously wanted in connection with two alleged attempted murders and firearms offences in his homeland. Doda was captured by Scotland Yard's extradition unit at his home in Girton Road, Kingsbury, northwest London, in 2009. But he walked free after legal proceedings collapsed when his extradition warrant mysteriously went missing. Doda was later granted a five-year visa to stay here after marrying a European woman, before setting up the drugs racket. which used Vicks Vaporub to try and fool sniffer dogs. Also known as Miri or Mirja, Doda had been extradited from London in 2003 by Italian police on suspicion of murdering an Albanian man.

DODA:SMUGGLERS USED VAPORUB TO MASK SMELL OF COCAINE

PORTSMOUTH, SOUTHAMPTON, CHICHESTER; GOLDERS GREEN, HOUNSLOW, KINGSBURY, NORTHWEST LONDON A gang of drug smugglers who used Vicks VapoRub to mask the smell of cocaine are facing years behind bars today (mon). Tightly wrapped packages of the drug were stashed in socks and smothered with the mentholated chest cream, then imported into the UK in the back of cars. The high purity cocaine was then cut and driven to cities across the south coast, including Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Southampton. Seven gang members are facing jail at Southwark Crown Court today (mon) after detectives from Hampshire Constabulary's Major Investigation Team smashed one of the biggest cocaine smuggling operations in recent years.

BLAZQUEZ:ACCUSED PINSTRIPE KILLER WILL NOT STAND TRIAL AT OLD BAILEY

HORNCHURCH, SOUTH WOODFORD, ESSEX A former Old Bailey prosecution case worker at the accused of murdering a pensioner in her own home was today (weds) told he will not be standing trial at the court where he once worked. Thomas Blazquez, 50, allegedly smothered 77-year-old Rosemary Shearman, whose lifeless body was found at her home in Platford Green, Hornchurch, Essex, last Tuesday (September 3). Mrs Shearman had been preparing to go on a Saga Cruise around the Canary Islands when she was bound, gagged and knifed by an assailant dressed in a blue pinstripe suit, say detectives. Neighbours raised the alarm after the grandmother-of-five failed to answer the door of her £500,000 detached property.

NEWMAN: POLICE OFFICER AVOIDS PRISON OVER SECRET JAILBIRD LOVE

EAST HAM; BARNET A woman police officer who swapped more than 1,000 secret phone calls and texts with a lover serving time for armed robbery wept uncontrollably as she was given a suspended jail term today (tues). PC Kayley Newman, 25, enjoyed the illicit contact with smooth talking Dominic Diop, after he was recalled to Pentonville prison to complete his six-year sentence. Newman spent a night of passion with Diop, 23, while he was on the run from the law before returning to prison, Southwark Crown Court heard. She was accused of booking them into the Hotel Ibis London Docklands knowing 'full well' that police had been searching for him since October 25, 2011.

BAINS: PERVERTED 'SPYWATCH' DOC IS STRUCK OFF

SWINDON A perverted GP serving who filmed intimate examinations of dozens of women using a ‘spy watch’ was thrown out of the profession today (Fri). Dr Davinder Jeet Bains, 46, used the James Bond-style hidden camera to secretly record himself abusing female patients over a three year period at his practice in Royal Wootton Bassett. His 29 victims included two young teenage girls under the age of 16, who were made to get undressed before he fondled them. The disgraced GP made the films using the camera watch and saved them for his own sexual pleasure. Bains was caught after a teenage lodger, ‘Miss A’, told police the doctor had filmed her in the toilet and shower and assaulted her.

JOHNSON: DRUGS COUNSELLOR JAILED FOR, ER, SMUGGLING DRUGS

ISLINGTON A drugs counsellor who smuggled skunk weed stashed in tins of rice pudding and pot noodles into prison has today (Thurs) been jailed for six months. Daryl Johnson, 27, allowed himself to become ‘corrupted’ while working as a CARAT (Counselling, Assessment, Referral Advice, Through Care) worker at HMP Pentonville in north London. Johnson was initially persuaded to bring in contraband, including shower gel and sweets, supplied by Dwayne Thomas, the half-brother of serving inmate Duran Braithwaite, a childhood associate. But he threw the items away after discovering 52.03g of cannabis hidden inside, Southwark Crown Court heard. The father-of-one was ordered to take another package into the prison on May 11, 2011, after being subjected to threats of violence. Johnson, who is studying for a degree in 'youth studies' at London Metropolitan University and also works part time at London Zoo, was caught red-handed with the stash in his locker.

COMER: KILLER BROKE FREE TO BE WITH DYING LOVER

MITCHAM, SURREY A convicted murderer escaped prison to care for his dying girlfriend then spent two years on the run, a court heard today (Wed). Stephen Comer, 43, was jailed for a minimum of 14 years in September 1998 after he and accomplice Thomas Webb stabbed Jason Foster to death over a drugs turf war. Comer walked out of HMP Ford open prison in Arundel, west Sussex, on June 15, 2011, just weeks before he was due to be released. His partner and mother of his children, Liza Dew, died of liver failure on September 4, 2011, Southwark Crown Court heard.

KHAN: THREE IN COURT OVER PRISON SIEGE

YORKSHIRE Three prisoners who allegedly made terror demands after taking a guard hostage are to stand trial at the Old Bailey. Feroz Khan, 26, Fuad Awale, 25, and David Watson, 25, were all inmates at HMP Full Sutton in North Yorkshire, when they grabbed prison officer Richard Thompson, Westminster Magistrates heard. Khan and Awale are accused of threatening to kill the guard. The court heard Khan attacked Mr Thompson and assaulted a second prison guard, Rachel Oxtoby.

HALL: 'IT'S A LOCK IN' - LIFE BEHIND BARS WITH STUART HALL

CHESHIRE Disgraced broadcaster Stuart Hall’s jail sentence has been doubled by the Court of Appeal to reflect the gravity of his 20-year campaign of child sex abuse. The veteran BBC presenter’s 15-month prison sentence was extended following a hearing this morning which heard he had ‘got away’ with his crime for decades. Senior judges agreed with Attorney General Dominic Grieve that Hall was let off lightly at Preston Crown Court after he admitted 14 counts of indecent assault against girls as young as nine between 1967 and 1987. ‘It is our judgement that the sentence should be increase from 15 months in prison to 30 months in prison’, said Lord Judge, the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales. ‘The offender got away with it for decades.'
