The crooked father of a former EastEnders star has had his £1.8million debt to the taxpayer slashed by two thirds a decade after he was jailed for fraud. Vincent Stapleton, whose daughter Nicola Stapleton played homeless tearaway Mandy in the soap, was jailed for five years in 2001 for involvement in a £11million VAT scam.

LAMA: 'I THOUGHT I HAD BEEN PUNCHED' KNIFED DJ TELLS COURT

CAMBERWELL, WALWORTH, NORWOOD A musician told a court he thought he had been punched when he was stabbed twice after playing at a nightclub. Peter Lama, 19, known as DJ Sayper, performed in the band Kid n'Play with his friend Carl Beatson Asiedu, also 19, at Club Life in Kennington, south London.

OKAFOR: DJ STABBED TO DEATH OUTSIDE NIGHTCLUB

CAMBERWELL, SE LONDON. A musician was stabbed to death outside the club he had just played at by an associate from his old school, a court heard today. DJ Carl Beatson Asiedu, 19, was in the band Kid n'Play with his friend Peter Lama, also 19, who was knifed twice but survived.

BRIXTON, CLAPHAM, MITCHAM Four teenagers accused of stabbing a 15 year-old boy to death outside his school are to face a retrial. Zac Olumegbon was allegedly murdered by members of the 'Gas Gang' minutes after arriving for lessons in South Norwood, south London.

ZAC:MURDERED SCHOOLBOY TOLD TEACHER HE WAS IN 'BEEF' WITH LOCAL GANG

SOUTH NORWOOD, BRIXTON, SOUTH LONDON. A 15 year-old boy who was chased from his school and stabbed to death had told a teacher he was 'in beef' with a local gang, a court heard. Zac Olumegbon talked about his troubles a month before his death after becoming involved in a fight outside the front gates, it is claimed.

BRIXTON, SOUTH LONDON; WEST NORWOOD, SOUTH LONDON A 15 year-old boy cried out 'somebody help' as he was chased to his death outside his school gates, the Old Bailey heard today (THURS). Zac Olumegbon was targeted by a gang of four knife-wielding youths wearing bandanas and hoodies as he arrived for morning lessons, it is claimed.

Zac Olumegbon had just arrived at the gates for morning lessons when four youths jumped out of a car brandishing knives.

LEMONIOUS:IT WORKER WAS SACKED UNFAIRLY BY CHURCH OF ENGLAND

CROYDON, SOUTH LONDON; WESTMINSTER. An IT worker sacked by the Church of England for allegedly sending rude emails using other people's computers after 36 years of service was unfairly dismissed, an employment tribunal ruled today. Ladrick Lemonious, 54, was fired after managers at the Church Commissioners, which manages the CoE's investments, payroll and pensions, picked him out as the culprit behind the emails.

UPPER NORWOOD A Church of England official insisted today (Tues) race had 'no bearing' on the decision to fire a black IT worker accused of sending rude emails from other people's accounts. Andrew Brown, chief executive of the Church Commissioners, the official body which manages CoE finances, insisted that Ladrick Lemonious would have kept his job if he had admitted wrongdoing.

UPPER NORWOOD, SOUTH LONDON A black IT worker claims he was sacked by the Church of England because of his race after he was blamed for a series of rude anonymous emails. Ladrick Lemonious, 54, was dismissed from his £37,000-a-year role for gross misconduct in February last year after a Church disciplinary identified him as the culprit behind the messages.

CLARKE: PALM PRINT RAPIST GETS 16 YEARS

UPPER NORWOOD A double rapist who was snared by a palm print 25 years after he attacked a man and a woman was jailed for 16 years today (weds). Robert Clarke, 43, was 16 when he burst through the front door of the south London property armed with a knife and an iron bar in August 1984.

FOAD: ACCUSED BATTERER IN COURT

UPPER NORWOOD An unemployed man accused of battering a woman to death at her home appeared at the Old Bailey today (WED). Stephen Foad, 41, is charged with the murder of 39 year-old Siobhan Kelly in Anerley, south London.
